Because I lived in South Florida for many years, Disney World was the "go to" place for entertaining my 12 grandchildren when they came to visit. Every summer my grandchildren, along with my niece and nephew, spent a good part of their summer with me. We were at Walt Disney World almost every weekend. I've had the privilege to return to Walt Disney World with them as adults and show many of my great-grands some of the magic!
Meet Linda
Linda has a background in contract management, collections and project management. She retired from AT&T in 1998 after 33 years, beginning her employment with the Bell System while still in high school. Her experience includes managing departments (usually 70+ employees), managing employees in large territories (13 states and Puerto Rico), negotiating project development funding (usually $1,000,000+), managing large teams and projects, coordinating with industry partners to find jobs for every employee affected by office closings due to downsizing, developing employees to promotion within AT&T, working successfully with union representatives, collecting bad-debt revenue and managing diverse types of employees (from clerks to scientists). Linda found retirement boring so she started working again for AT&T as a consultant through 2001 where she worked on government projects. In 2002, she began working as a consultant for eventPower as a sales associate then as a sales manager, exhibit hall manager and now as an operations manager. Her experience with eventPower includes exhibit/sponsorship sales, sales management, contract management, managing exhibit halls, working with government systems and employees and event setup and staffing.

What is your philanthropy? Why does it resonate with you?
Philanthropy to me begins at home with family. I have spent my life trying to be another person in my brothers', sister's, grandchildren's, great-grandchildren's, nieces' and nephew's lives to support their dreams and help them overcome any hurdles that come their way. Sadly, I have not always been successful in helping a few overcome their demons, but I see every day that my support and love have helped most to succeed as parents, siblings and partners. They know I don't judge their choices, but I'm always there to listen to them, provide encouragement and sometimes provide where they or their parents can't (clothing, computers, tuition, vehicles, etc).
What was your first car?
A Volkswagen beetle...and I had to learn how to drive a stick shift.
What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
Reading, playing games, photography and quilting.
What was the first concert that you went to and where?
Actually my first concert was for a comedian, Justin Wilson, and I went with my grandparents. My first music concert was Porter Wagoner/Dolly Parton with my stepmother who loved country music. (I was NOT a fan at that time.) My most memorable concert was The Eagles who are my favorite band of all time (even now without Glen Frey).
