What has been your biggest realization throughout the pandemic?

Frank:

I always knew that I had a great team of employees. When the pandemic hit, we were all nervous about the company and our job stability. We needed to reinvent ourselves and do it quickly. Everyone, without exception, was willing to do whatever was needed to help the company survive. That meant reinventing themselves and their roles. It was not about the individual but how we could make it for the entire team.

Biggest life lesson(s) as a result of this company ‘pivot’ to virtual events?

Frank:

Those who sit back and watch will not be successful. Many of our competitors did just that and are no longer in business. You can never be complacent even when successful. Things can change at an instant, and you can never take success for granted.

Why do you think eventPower has continued to be successful?

Frank:

We have had success in difficult times and have learned to adjust as needed. Several major things have happened in our company’s 25 year history where most companies would not have survived. eventPower is resilient, overcoming each challenge growing stronger and standing stronger than before.

What drives you as a leader?

Frank:

I believe that it is not one person that makes a company successful, it is the entire team.

Had you known in January 2020 what you now know, what would you tell yourself?

Frank:

If I knew that we were going to get through the pandemic with the entire staff intact and financially stable, I would have doubled down on the good decisions we made. I would have added more staff earlier in the process which would allow us to continue adding new clients. Because of our success in launching a virtual platform and supporting our growing roster of clients, we have made the decision to carefully review our schedule and turn down business as a result.

What do you think the future of events will look like?

Frank:

I think the near future there will always be a virtual component to an event. Whether fully virtual or hybrid, I believe that companies as a whole are re-evaluating attending events in-person whether it be for fiscal reasons or for the health of their employees.
