A Deep Dive with Marnie

Living in Florida and surrounded by beautiful oceans, I'm a passionate scuba diver. I love the peace and serenity you find when underwater. I also think in the events industry we can sometimes feel like we are "underwater", so why not trust your event to someone who is right at home being submerged. Lol.

Meet Marnie

Marnie joined eventPower in 2011 as a speaker manager and now oversees the department as Director of Speaker Services. Throughout her time with the company, she has orchestrated events and projects at the highest level collaborating with a virtual 'who’s who' list of global thought leaders and prestigious speakers (generals, senators, CEOs, heads of state, innovators) within the government and corporate sectors including U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Energy, GE and Synchrony, to name a few. Prior to joining eventPower, Marnie held various roles in finance and sales with Merrill Lynch, Citigroup and Bear Stearns. Marnie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and minor in Accounting from the University of Florida. She also earned a certificate in Hospitality & Tourism Management from the College of Business at Florida Atlantic University.

Fun Facts

What is your philanthropy? Why does it resonate with you?

I'm passionate about supporting organizations that work to end hunger, especially for children. It is inexcusable that in our society some families work so hard yet still struggle to meet the basic needs of food and shelter.

What is your "go to" karaoke song?

Anything from the "Mamma Mia" soundtrack! How can you listen to ABBA and not just want to get up, sing and be a dancing queen?!

What sports team do you root for?

Obviously the Florida Gators! Alumni of the University of Florida bleed "orange & blue".

What was your first car?

I remember it well! My friends called it the "Marn Mobile". We all drove around in high school in my amazingly "cool" sleek and sporty 1980's era Datsun 200SX. It was the ugliest shade of brown you ever saw and had a leaky sunroof, but I was so proud of it because I worked all summer at a burger place and babysitting to save the money to buy it.
